REPORT for January, 2010

Dear Friends,

May I begin by wishing you all a very Happy and Blessed New Year! It is hard to believe that half of January is already gone. Those of you who receive our emails will already be aware of some of the following news.

Medical News:

JOANNA: On December 17th Joanna was struck in the side of her car by a pickup truck whose driver had been drinking and who ran a red light at a pretty good rate of speed. Her car was spun around and thrown down an eight-foot embankment into the parking lot of a CVS drug store. Her car was totaled and her collarbone was broken into three pieces.

This past Tuesday she underwent surgery to have it put back together with a steel pin and wiring. She will have a follow-up surgery in about three months to have the pin removed. She is on a great deal of pain. Because of her injury Barb will have to stay home from my next eight weeks of ministry in order to help take care of her. As a result of her injuries there is a great deal that she cannot do for herself. Do keep her in prayer. Hopefully she may be well enough to return to work in another week or two.

BARB: We are thankful that Barb’s blood pressure seems to be coming down to a more reasonable point, at least for her. The new medication seems to be working for now.

JENNIFER: Jennifer will be having more surgery on January 29th to remover the nodule on her thyroid and half of the thyroid itself. If no cancer is found that will be the extent of the surgery. If a malignancy is found they will then remove the rest of the thyroid as well.

Mechanical News: Our 15 year-old motorhome finally had to have a complete engine overhaul. Final cost came to $13,500. We praise the Lord for a special anonymous gift that we received in the amount of $8,400 that we are putting toward that repair bill in addition to a 10% discount on parts and labor from Cummins (maker of the engine). We are asking the Lord to provide the remaining funds.

Musical News: We have just had printed two new collections of music for violin and piano. The first is a collection of five hymn arrangements for the advanced player entitled “Sacred Stylings, Volume Two” and the other is a collection of four original classical pieces for violin and piano. The cost is $9 each and may be ordered directly from us. Work is already underway for Volume Three.

Praise ‘n Prayer:

Praise the Lord for Barb’s improved blood pressure.

Praise the Lord that Joanna’s accident and subsequent injuries were not worse than they were.

Praise the Lord for the special gift of $8,400!

Pray for Joanna’s recovery from the car accident.

Pray for Jennifer as she faces more surgery.

Pray for Barb’s health issues.

Pray for the remaining funds needed to pay off the repair bill.

Pray for safety as I travel across the country.

Pray for God’s blessing on the meetings in New Mexico and California.

Thank you all so very much for your continued interest and prayers for our ministry and us. It is really hard to believe that we are now in our 41st year of ministry.

Until next time, may the Lord richly bless you.

 Sincerely in Christ,

Ken & Barb Lynch, Eph. 6:19
